Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship (JASSO Scholarship)

1. Reservation Program for Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship

The Graduate School of Frontier Sciences (GSFS) provides its international students with the Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship, which is supported by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO).

Those who would like to apply must submit the required application documents at the same time as applying for entrance examination.

The result will be notified to all successful candidates of the respective entrance examination, which should be after enrollment. Then they will be officially nominated to JASSO from the University of Tokyo.

2. Eligible applicants

Those who are applying overseas for admission to a master or doctoral course of GSFS are eligible to apply. The recipients must hold a status of eligibility "college student (留学 ryuugaku)" by the time they enroll in GSFS. Those who are required to come to Japan to take entrance examinations are not eligible to apply.

Applicants also need to meet all eligibility criteria stated in the guidelines.

3. Application method

Following the instructions in the guideline, submit the required documents.

Guidelines, application form and application period as well as scholarship period are different depending on the enrollment timing of your choice.
