Scholarship for GSFS International Students

Application Deadline December 9 (Thu), 2021
Eligibility
(1) Privately financed international students who are nationals of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, East Timor, or Vietnam and who are enrolled in a Japanese Graduate school (Research students are ineligible).
(2) Having strong interest in the improvement of international understanding and a strong will to participate in events hosted by the Foundation about 6 times/year.
(3) Not receiving any scholarship or funding from other scholarship foundations under any circumstance.
(4) Not receiving any funds though the University's program.
(5) Living in Japan at the time of application and having a 'college student' visa status.
(6) Those whose parent is not employed in Japan.
(7) Those who have not obtained a PhD. degree.
(8) Those who have more than one year left for completing their course when scholarship payment starts.
(9) Those who are able to communicate in Japanese.
(10) Those who are willing to participate exchange activities as almnus, even if his/her Sato Yo International scholarship has expired.
Amount
Amount : 180,000/month
Duration : April 2022 - March 2024
# of applicants to be recommended All applicants fulfilling the eligibility criteria would be recommended. (Total number accepted by the foundation will be about 15.)
Apply To Applicants must

(1) download the Application Guidelines and application forms from the Foundation Website.
(2) email Application Form for Scholarship from private Foundations to ILO, ilo[at]edu.k.u-tokyo.jp (change [at] to @) by December 9 (Thu), and acquire a registration number.
(3) make registration from the online form at the Foundation website by December 14. (Attention: the deadline of the Foundation and the ILO is different.)
(4) make PDF of all your application documents, and email them to ILO by  December 15 (Wed) by 16:00. Recommendation letter must be emailed from your supervisor directly to ILO.
(5) submit the original of application documents to ILO by the designated date.
