Aims of this center

In today's increasingly complex and diverse world, there is a need to respond to various sustainability-related issues. Sustainability science has moved from an era of ideas to an era of operationalization. It is our urgent task not only to systematize sustainability science as an academic discipline but also to educate global leaders in various fields and conduct truly interdisciplinary research and education by collaborating with a variety of stakeholders. The center will provide students from diverse backgrounds with a full education in sustainability science, as well as also developing recurrent education programs for people at work.　Through its education programs, the center aims to develop human capacities to design a sustainable society and contribute to the global commons in a variety of fields.
