Future Plan
Our research topic covers various aspects regarding climate change adaptation. Based on the Climate Change Adaptation Act that was put into effect in 2018, Japan is expected to plan and implement adaptation, in which local governments and citizens are involved. In this process, “choosing strategies with less regret (to seize social and economic opportunities under current climate change and future scenarios)” is crucial to promote adaptation at local level. Our nation has just embarked on adaptation initiatives. By building up our experience, technology and knowledge in the fields of disaster mitigation, agriculture, and health that have been developed for a long period of time to secure citizens‘ lives, we explore scientific findings within a public-private-people partnership to adapt to changing climate.
Messages to Students
It is a privilege of students to devote themselves to one thing. Read more papers and discuss further with your professors and colleagues. All the same, study is a lonely journey; you face it alone, deal with it alone and pursue the truth that you will be the first to find out.
