Educational Activities

Graduate School: Marine biogeochemical cycles

Research Activities

Biogeochemical cycles of trace metals in the open ocean (2001- present)
We are studying the biogeochemical processes that control the distribution of trace metals in seawater.

Other Activities

Geochemical Society of Japan
The Oceanographic Society of Japan
The Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry

2007- present: A member of the GEOTRACES Standards and Intercalibtration Committee

Future Plan

Speciation of trace metals in seawater is not well known.
We are developing a methodology to reveal the speciation of trace metals in seawater.

Messages to Students

I hope to work with those who want to both do experiments in the laboratory and participate the field work.
Both laboratory and field studies are essential in my research field.
