SCOPE

The Graduate School of Frontier Sciences will hold a symposium "Novel Material Fabrication and Observation with Energy Beams" on Friday, October 21, 2022.

Beams of particles, which often have much higher energy than binding energy between atoms, are used for analyzing structures of materials and creating novel materials as various interactions are generated between a particle of a beam and an atom of a material. In this symposium, we will introduce phenomena in various energy scales as well as research that has eminently advanced recently in and outside of the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences.

This is the fifth symposium of the GSFS Year-Round Symposium Series 2022. The GSFS has been pursuing the themes, "academic fields integration" and "wisdom adventure" since the school's establishment in 1998. We will hold symposiums to reflect on the outcomes and achievements of the school so far and proceed to the next stage taking up themes closely related to recent public concerns to cultivate the next generation academic fields such as "life of 100 years", "EVs", "deep space exploration", "genome science" "creation of new materials" and more.
