Applicants who fall under this category may choose to take the "General Entrance Examination" or the "Special Selection for applicants with overseas education". For more information on "Special Selection for applicants with overseas education", please check here for details.

*Some majors do not offer "Special Selection for applicants with overseas education". In that case, please take the "General Entrance Examination".

Special Selection with Scholarship

Applicants who fall into the "Special Selection with Scholarship" category in the flowchart and meet the eligibility requirements for applying to a scholarship granting institution may select this selection method to take the examination.
It is recommended that students take the exam using this selection process, as it provides financial guarantees upon admission.

The scholarship programs you can apply for depend on the department you wish to enroll in. For more information. please check here for details.

  1. Japanese Government Scholarship, Embassy Recommendation (All Departments, GPSS-GLI)
  2. Japanese Government Scholarship, University Recommendation (GPSS-GLI)
  3. Asian Development Bank Scholarship Program (All Departments in the Division of Environmental Studies, GPSS-GLI) (Restricted by Nationality)

The following two scholarship programs can be applied for concomitantly while applying for entrance examinations i.e., " Special selection for applicants with overseas education ".

  1. WINGS-PES financial support (All Departments, GPSS-GLI) (Only UTSIP Kashiwa participants can apply)
  2. Reservation Program for Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship (only those who take an entrance examination without coming to Japan are eligible.)

*If you have applied for a scholarship from the government of your home country and wish to receive a "Certificate of Intended Acceptance" issued by the university, please take the "Special selection for applicants with overseas education". The official certificate will only be issued to those who have taken and passed the "Special selection for applicants with overseas education" or "General Entrance Examination".

*Those who are currently applying for various programs such as JICA's long-term training program should also take the " Special selection for applicants with overseas education" or "General Entrance Examination".

*If you plan to apply for the African Development Bank Scholarship Program (JADS), please take the "Special Selection for applicants with overseas education" or "General Entrance Examination".

If you do not meet eligibility requirements for any scholarship, you will have to take the "Special selection for applicants with overseas education" or the "General Entrance Examination" and look for scholarships after you enter the university.
