Research Activities
We have investigated inorganic materials from the viewpoints of magnetism (1, 5-11), a dielectrics (5-8), optical characteristics (2-4, 9-11), etc. In particular, in transition metal oxides with strong correlation between electrons, we have observed various interesting phenomena, such as the change of anisotropy of the orbital degree of freedom of electrons by electric fields (3,4), huge magnetoelectric effects (5-11), and so on.

Future Plan
So far, we have been mainly interested in the phenomena observed in insulator. In the future, we would like to treat both conducting and insulating material as a candidate for research. We would also like to try to discover a new novel functional material from a broad viewpoint.

Messages to Students
We hope that you will join us and enjoy investigating novel phenomena, which are observed in various materials. We are looking forward to seeing you.
