About Gas system

When you use gas

There are 2 types of gas for residential use in Japan, which are city (pipeline) gas and LPG (propane).
It depends on where you live. Gas products are not interchangeable, since each appliance is designed for either city (pipeline) or LPG (propane) only.
Using the wrong appliance for the gas application is very dangerous.
Please do not make any mistakes when using gas in your room. A mistake can be life-threatening. Explosion or fire can result in serious injury and death.

For city gas

When you start using gas for the first time, an authorized service person from Keiyo Gas or Keiyo Gas Service will visit your apartment and open the valve for the gas meter.
This service person will explain how to use gas safely, and how to pay the bill.
Please contact Keiyo Gas Call Center to set the date for activating your gas system.

In case of problems with your gas service

If you ever detect any gas odors, immediately shut off your main gas valve.
Open all the windows, and do not use any appliances that may produce a spark.
Do not touch any switches for electrical items or outlets.
LPG (propane) is heavier than air. Please sweep out the gas with a broom.

Contact the gas company immediately, regardless of the time of the day.
(You may call anytime, on weekends or holidays, at night, etc.)

How to pay the bill for gas.

Take the bill you received by mail to the bank, post office or convenience store, and pay before the due date.

Also, you can set up a system so that the gas company will deduct the exact amount of money to pay the bill every month, automatically, from your bank or post office account.
